About the Artist
Laurie Blanchard has been a professional working musician her entire life. She had always wanted to do art but her but between caring for her parents, working a full time job and performing music most weekends there just wasn't the time. The pandemic was in a way a gift. It allowed her to refocus her energies, and find art as a therapy after her parents passed and in doing so realize just how important art was to her. Since then there has been no looking back. She quit her band of 16 years, rented a studio and has never been happier. She primarily works in acrylic on canvas but also does watercolors. She hopes that you will find some of the energy she puts into her art to be of comfort, encouragement and happiness to you as the art has been to her.
