Karen Chen is a multidisciplinary artist and muralist whose work invites people of all ages to slow down, connect, and create. Born and raised in Plano, Texas and now based in Sacramento, California, her artistic journey is rooted in a deep love for nature, community, and accessible creativity.

Karen is best known for her large-scale, community-driven murals, which transform public spaces into vibrant, interactive works of art. Designed like giant coloring pages, her murals are often created alongside local residents—inviting hundreds of participants, from students to families, to help bring each piece to life. Her work reflects a belief that art is not just something to observe, but something to experience and share.

In addition to her murals, Karen is the author and illustrator of over a dozen coloring books and guided journals, including her debut *Life of the Wild*. Her books feature intricate, nature-inspired illustrations that encourage mindfulness, play, and self-expression. Drawing from these same illustrations, she also creates a line of greeting cards that bring moments of joy, reflection, and connection into everyday life.
