More About the Artist

Adam Mackey’s extreme love for creating art developed at an early age. A pivotal moment in his life came when he submitted a painting titled “Great Aunt Sophie” for his local small town art show at the age of twelve and, to his delight, walked away with his first blue ribbon. His parents, realizing how much he enjoyed this creative outlet, gifted him a much-desired Bob Ross painting set and his fervor to continue creating, explore new styles, and allow his creativity to flow has only grown since then.

He lives for that rush of excitement, the unknown of what is about to come alive when beginning a new piece. Perhaps there may be a specific texture or a specific color scheme in mind, but Adam does not further restrict himself while creating his art. Each piece is developed in chapters, in layers, creating depth and richness for the viewer to explore. For Adam, the most wonderful part of creating art is discovering what others see and feel when viewing his work. He shared, “The flexibility within abstract art and the allowance for one to interpret in their own way and come to their own conclusions is beautiful and inspiring.”
