The False Faces series includes Werewolf Bar Mitzvah.
It is a 16” x 12” Ink and acrylic on stretched canvas displaying a face of deep blues and details of soft pink and red. The hands grasping one another, brought close to the face as if deep thought or possibly fear. The idea of taking part in or witnessing the Bar Mitzvah of a werewolf brings about many thoughts and ideas, perhaps that is what behind the expression we see here.
More About The Artist
Sacramento area-based artist, Jamie Angello, has been exploring their rediscovered love of painting for the past several years. Originally trained in painting, Jamie took a multi-year break to investigate and enjoy the spatial properties of sculpture and the dimension of time in music.
Jamie’s evolution from painting to sculpture and music and then back again has allowed them to introduce a new love of materiality and process into their paintings.
