Knowing is a mixed media piece by Chandra Merod. Featuring her traditional abstract texture, doodling, and art journaling to create techniques to create a textured background, including her favorite, signature drip, and drag technique. This piece started out with just the hummingbird, and at first, Chandra did not like it and wanted to paint over it. In the end, the hummingbird stayed and gives this piece the detail that it needs. With a blue flowing feeling in her hair this woman has the abstract background as her skin tone creating a layer of texture appealing to the eye.

Over the past year, Chandra has created many paintings of strong women. She enjoys creating mixed media art because it gives her the freedom to express herself with many mediums. Her paintings are created through intuition, usually mixed media and abstract featuring a strong woman. Chandra is currently a Capitol Art Box Revival Artist and has been featured in art shows around the Sacramento area over the last 4 years.
