Description
The False Faces series includes I’m Afraid Of Hope
It is a 14” x 18” Ink and acrylic on stretched muslin displaying a face of pinks, blues, and yellows. The face has one eye, bold and red, while the other is almost invisible in a very light blue. The mouth downturned showing worry and fear, and if you look closely, and or from a distance, it is not a face that you see at all.
More About The Artist
Sacramento area-based artist, Jamie Angello, has been exploring their rediscovered love of painting for the past several years. Originally trained in painting, Jamie took a multi-year break to investigate and enjoy the spatial properties of sculpture and the dimension of time in music.
Jamie’s evolution from painting to sculpture and music and then back again has allowed them to introduce a new love of materiality and process into their paintings.
