Contoured cotton face covers are two-layered with different fabric choices to easily allow you to determine which side is facing outwards/inwards. The cotton fabric has been washed twice in hot water before cutting. They are all machine washable but it is recommended that you hand wash and hang dry before and after each use. DO NOT PUT INTO THE MICROWAVE.

Face covers are reusable, washable, and reversible. Thank you for supporting local creatives!

About the Designer:
Quynh Nguyen-Lewis is a local creative who is offering handmade cotton face covers to the public in order to cover the costs of supplies for mask donations. Quynh is an Instructional Assistant at American River College and Sacramento City College and has been part of the effort in providing frontline workers and nursing students with over 3,000 cotton face covers. Funds collected here go to making additional masks for those in need.

WHAT IS THE ATRIUM?
This shopping experience is provided by the nonprofit The Atrium -a Creative Innovation Center for Sustainability. Seeking to build a kind, creative and sustainable future for all.  Creatives on this platform are using the funds raised from these masks to buy supplies to make free masks for those on the front lines and those in need.

Up Kindness, Inc is the 501c3 nonprofit legal name that houses the Atrium.

WEARING A CLOTH MASK
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated guidelines on April 3, advising Americans to wear cloth face coverings when out in the community. The guidelines target areas with significant community spread and where social distancing is difficult (like a grocery store). The goal is to minimize the spread from asymptomatic people (who have the COVID-19 illness but show no symptoms) and presymptomatic people (who are infected but aren’t showing symptoms yet).

  1. Use a fabric mask for no more than four hours at a time, then wash in hot water and dry thoroughly before using it again.
  2. Put the mask on (don) after washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
  3. Wash hands again after removing (doffing) the mask. Do not touch the outside front part of the mask as the area is likely to be contaminated.
  4. You must still practice social distancing and handwashing if you wear a mask. Masks are not absolutely effective and do not allow you to be less vigilant about staying safe!

Cloth masks are not medical-grade N95 respirators. Medical experts believe they may help to prevent an asymptomatic carrier from unknowingly spreading the virus to others. (Sacramento Bee April 2020
