This image is a cyanotype which is a form of alternative photography.  The cow parsnip is a weed that I found while hiking along Laguna Creek.  The dried flower head was placed on the sensitized paper with various sprays and powders to create texture and tones.  Then the paper was placed in the sun.  After exposure the print was rinsed, dried and cured.  The print was mounted on a piece of eco printed paper.  Watercolor was used to color the flowers and the moon. The print is mounted on a 6" x 8" x 3/4" natural cradle board and given a protective coat.  It may be hung on a wall or placed on a table or shelf.
