16"X24" Aluminum Fine Art Print

She is thinking, contemplating. Is she robotic and imbued with human personality? Is she human with replaced cybernetic parts?  She contemplates her existence after a recent reboot. The first image created in this series, a jumping off point for all that follows.

The artist starts with a nude human being, covers them in silver body paint and other colors as well. The subject is then photographed using colored lights and then the image is digitally manipulated. The next step involves using Artificial Intelligence which is directed with key words and phrases to manipulate the image based on millions of images from all over the world in a form of modern "collective unconscious". In the final step the images are further manipulated and prepared for printing.
About the Artist:
Rich Diltz is a professional airbrush artist, muralist, and body paint artist. He applies paints and pigments to skin as people have done to celebrate life, death, war, courtship, and major life moments since the dawn of human culture but adds a unique twist.

Diltz uses a multi-step process to convert this ancient ritual into a modern tech mind-boggle. Utilizing his brush skills he morphs bare-skin models into colorful beings. Using selective light, he photographs his works of art, to bring them into the digital world incorporating AI into the final result. Diltz explores ideas about self-expression, the subconscious, and humanity. “By starting with a vulnerable naked human, and manipulating the images as I do… I honor the individual and celebrate the things that tie us all together as the human race and explore the ideas we have buzzing in our brains.”
