Description
A Medicine Bag used to hold items that are sacred and good medicine for the owner. They can be traditional items, or anything else - a locket, photo, key, coin, crystals, prayers for example. Traditionally a medicine bag contains something from the plant animal and mineral kingdoms that pertain to the life of the owner.
This bag is hand-stitched and beaded. It is made of a nice soft and supple deerskin and adorned with small Turquoise crosses. The tassels are strung with very tiny (27-29 beads per inch) French cut steel beads from the Edwardian Era,( approximately 1890’s to 1920).
These beads were originally used in the making of the lovely ladies beaded handbags that were popular at the time. These bags have since become valuable collector's items. I buy damaged bags and harvest the beads for my jewelry designs. Just disassembling those bags is an exercise in patience. However, the fluidity that these little gems provide is worth the work. I have included a few clear quartz crystals inside this bag to get you started.

QUARTZ can be used to amplify both body energy and thoughts and can provide clarity of thinking. Traditionally, the natural quartz crystal was said to both harmonize and align human energies - thoughts, consciousness, emotions - with the energies of the universe and to make these greater energies available to humanity. The natural tendency of quartz is for harmony. It assists one in retaining calmness and clarity in all situations. Whether the crystal is worn, carried, or placed in one's environment, the force, the warmth, and the brilliance remain attuned to the energy of the one to whom it is connected. Clear quartz is used extensively in meditation, spiritual development, and healing.
TURQUOISE can bring any and all energies to a higher level. It does, however, primarily stimulate the throat, heart, and naval chakras and brings communication skills to emotional issues. It is excellent for spiritual attunement and for healing and cleansing of the energy centers. It is valuable for grounding. It acts to improve meditation and to further peace of mind. Turquoise is a healer of the spirit, providing soothing energy and bringing peace of mind. Turquoise emanates purifying energy which tends to dissipate negativity.
